One of the reasons why our socks usually get missing, especially one piece, is that we often overlook the need to properly organize and store them. Socks are tiny little items of our clothing that often get neglected.
They are easy to pull off and dump but when it’s time to wear them, it is quite frustrating to find out that most of our socks are missing their pairs.
This is where organization comes into play. When we properly fold and organize our socks, we actually get to save them from getting missing. Folding socks and storing them properly will make them readily and easily accessible and it would be easy for us to put them away in the right place once they come out of the laundry.
3 WAYS TO EASILY FOLD AND ORGANIZE SOCKS (METHODS 1 & 3 CAN BE USED FOR LEGGINGS TOO)
1. Flatten out one sock on a surface, then place the second sock on top of the first.
Fold one end towards the middle, then fold the other end all the way across to the end.
Store in a container or organizer.
2. Flatten one sock on a flat surface. Place the other sock facing downwards to form a ‘T’ shape.
Fold one end of the first sock across to the middle, then fold the other end all the way across to the end.
Fold the second sock upwards all the way to the end.
Turn the whole thing the other way round. Now, fold the remaining part of the second sock all the way up to the end again.
Store in a container or organizer.
Tip: It’s best to store in a container that’s just wide enough to hold the socks up in position so that they could stand upright without falling or tipping over.
3. There is also another very easy way I organize our socks at home. I do this mostly with my children’s socks. Instead of folding them, I roll one into the other. I know it might be a little bit hard to explain and that was why I made a video on that.
The video below shows how you could easily roll one sock into another as another easy and neat way of organizing them. You could also use the same method to fold leggings too. Watch how to do it in the video below.
That’s it my friends! I hope you got something out of this. I always say, there are lots of different ways of doing one thing but it is never a waste to discover more than the methods we already know. Sometimes, it’s also refreshing to do things a little bit different from what we are already used to.
As usual, I would love for you to write in the comment section below, any concerns, questions, contributions or whatever it may be. Whatever it is, I love hearing from you.
Thanks for hanging around and I really appreciate you reading this post all through to the end.
