Hey loves🤍 I’m so excited to introduce you to the new Ball® Storage Latch Jars. They arrived just in time to celebrate spring cleaning season with a diy project. Have you ever found out that you were out of cleaning wipes just when you were about to start cleaning?
It happens more often than not, even to the most organized people. We think that we’re on top of things and that we didn’t forget anything from our grocery list last time we were at the supermarket, and then boom: where are the wipes? Guess what, it happens to all of us. The other day, it did happen to me, so I figured why not create my own? It can’t be that hard, I thought. Let the research and try-out phase begin…
Ok ok, I have to admit that I’m not naturally a DIYer so I had to look up what others were doing, experiment and stick to the recipe that I liked the best. Hint: my prereqs were to be able to store in the beautiful new latch jars from @ballcanning®️, easy to make for myself and you guys, and to avoid as much chemicals as possible. YouTube kinda became my bestie throughout the process😆, I watched about every single video of the subject. Surprisingly, they all fell short, so I researched a bit more, asked around and finally came across the blog of the beautifuls Kat and Melinda @homemadeinterest and decided that it was it. It checked all the boxes: easy to make, Ball®️ Storage Latch Jars friendly, all natural and with things I already had at home.
It is that easy guys. If I can do it, no doubt you can too. Here’s what you’ll need:
- Ball®️ Storage Latch jars
- 1 cup of hot water
- ½ cup of white vinegar
- 1 kitchen paper roll (resistant)
- 1 tablespoon of dish soap
- 10 drops of your favourite essential oil (I used lemon)
- Cutting board and knife (to cut paper roll)
- Measuring cup
- Measuring spoon
Easy peasy from here on. Cut the paper roll in half (make sure not to cut yourself), place it in the jar. Mix all the ingredients together and pour into the paper roll. Remove the paper roll tube and then turn the jar upside down. Let it sit for 10 minutes…et voila! They’re ready to be used. Feel free to play around with quantities, for some, lesser drops of essential oil are enough😘.
